Q. Can I use a Mum for a regular booking each week?

A. If you wish to use the services of one of our Mums every week for up to three hours, that's fine. However, we cannot guarantee it will always be the same Mum although we will try our best to send you your preferred Mum and our regular booking fee of £5.50 will be charged for each booking.

Q. If I'm looking for a nanny for one or more full days each week, can you help?

A. Because we are not a Nanny Agency and only provide ad hoc help for those busy periods, we cannot provide permanent placements (even if they are only for a day or two each week.) However, if you need help for over three hours on the odd occasion, we will try and help. The Services section explains this more.

Q. Why do you use only women who have children to be your Mums?

A. Although many nannies or childcare helpers do not have children and are fantastic at their jobs, the concept of Mums on Call is about mums helping other mums. The feedback we have received is that many mums feel more confident and reassured when they have another woman looking after their children who has been through the experience of raising their own children.

Q. Can you look after my children while I'm out in the evening?

A. We do have a few Mums who would be willing to do some evening babysitting and we will charge the same booking fee and hourly rate for a Mum. However, we are first and foremost a daytime family concierge and flexible childcare service, so at the moment, we cannot always guarantee a Mum for evenings.

Q. Do I have to pay the Mum for travelling time?

A. No.

Q. Are all of your Mums CRB checked?

A. Most of them are because they are working in, or have worked in, roles with children and would have already been cleared through the CRB as part of their jobs. However, to set standards and for our clients' peace of mind, we do check all references and interview Mums face to face before taking them onto our team. Any Mum who hasn't been CRB checked will also be willing to be CRB checked when joining our team.

Q. Is there a maximum number of children Mums will look after?

A. We will look after up to 3 children from the same family in your home, or up to three children from different families in your home as long as each of the children's parents have registered with Mums on Call.

Q. Can you provide care for children with special needs?

A. This depends on the extent of your child's needs and whether or not we have a Mum with the relevant experience at the time of your request. Of course, we will try our very best to help where we can.

Q. How much notice do you need if I want to book a Mum?

A. The more notice we have the better - at least 24 hours would be preferable. However, please do try us even if you have only a few hours notice as we might be able to help.
